SRRV retirement visa
The Special Resident Retiree's Visa is administered by the Philippine Retirement Authority, not the Bureau of Immigration. It grants indefinite stay with multiple entry, and it exempts the holder from the BI annual report.
Under the September 2025 reform the minimum age is 40, and two options remain: SRRV Classic and SRRV Courtesy. Classic deposits are US$15,000 at 50 and over with a qualifying pension, US$30,000 without; US$25,000 at 40 to 49 with a pension, US$50,000 without. The deposit is capital held in a PRA-accredited bank, not a fee.
Read the conflict note below before you remit anything.

A deposit is not a fee. It stays yours, and under Classic it can be converted into an approved condominium purchase or a long-term lease once the visa is granted.
Who needs this
- Foreign nationals aged 40 and over, and former Filipino citizens.
- Retirees who want indefinite stay without renewing a visa each year.
- Holders who want to be exempt from the BI annual report and the ACR I-Card.
Who does not
- Anyone who needs to work. The SRRV is a residence status, and paid employment still requires an Alien Employment Permit from DOLE.
- Applicants who cannot document a qualifying lifetime pension, which changes the deposit band.
How it is done
- Choose the option against your age and pensionThe pension threshold is US$800 a month for a single applicant and US$1,000 with dependents. Documenting it halves the Classic deposit at 50 and over.
- Order the documents by expiryPolice clearance and medical clearance are valid six months. Apostille happens in the country of issuance, not in Manila, and it is the step that runs out first.
- Remit the deposit to a PRA-accredited bankUse the PRA remittance form. Wait for the bank certification before submitting.
- File with PRAApplication form, passport with valid admission, clearances, photographs, and the bank certification.
- Collect the PRA cardThe visa is implemented once the deposit is confirmed. Then the annual PRA fee applies.
Deadline and what happens if you miss it
The visa itself does not expire while the deposit subsists, but the PRA card is renewed annually with the US$360 annual fee, and the deposit must stay in place. Withdrawing it ends the status.
Why files get refused at the counter
- A police or medical clearance older than six months at filing.
- Documents apostilled after arrival rather than in the issuing country.
- A pension claim without the lifetime attestation that the reduced band requires.

Last verified against the issuing agency on 2026-10-24. Conflict note: PRA's public page still shows the pre-reform option set (Smile, Human Touch, Expanded Courtesy) and a US$1,400 application fee, while the September 2025 reform as summarised by PRA briefings and by law firm commentary sets the minimum age at 40, keeps only Classic and Courtesy, and reports the application fee at US$1,500. We publish both rather than pick one. Confirm the current figures with PRA before remitting a deposit.. If an agency changes a fee or a deadline after that date, this page is out of date and we correct it before quoting.
